Welcome to the Kingman Airport Café located right on the runway where you can watch the planes up close.
Please take your seats, put your table down and order a true American-style breakfast or lunch. Just outside our charming café windows, you’ll see an important part of our American history.
The Kingman Army Airfield was founded at the beginning of World War II as an Aerial Gunnery Training Base. It was on the of Army Air Corps largest – training some 35,000 airmen. The airfield and Kingman played a significant role in this important era of America’s history. With the disposal of the military aircraft completed, Kingman AAF was returned to civilian use in 1949 and developed into a civil airport and industrial park.
Today, some civilian airliners are stored here and remarketed or recycled into spare parts and into their base metals.
The airport and industrial park around the café now cover an area of about 4,200 acres. There are more than 70 businesses around here as well as the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad.
